Anyone: “How long have the two of you been friends?”

Us: “Well, we met in jail nearly two decades ago!”

Them (trying not to spit out their drink): “You met in JAIL?! What?!”

Jalena: “Yep, I served 10 years and Lauren served 2 1/2!”

And we usually just leave it at that and let people’s imaginations run wild with scenarios of what crimes we could have committed to land us in jail.

The truth – however – isn’t as interesting as whatever came to your mind already…

We met in the Madison Street Jail in Phoenix, Arizona back in 2004 where we both worked as Detention Officers responsible for the care, custody and control of some of the worst criminals ever! After a long shift, we’d get off work at 10pm, change in the locker room and head to the nearest nightclub to dance the night away (back in our younger days), and our friendship has continued to grow stronger and evolve over the years.

Today, our friendship is stronger than ever. We are each other’s ride-or-die. We’ve been by each other’s sides through breakups, marriage, divorce, child birth, the good times and the bad. She’s my motherf***ing soulmate!

We are fortunate to be able to combine the things we love doing (drinking wine, taking road trips, trying new restaurants, making silly videos, going camping and hiking, and photography- all things that have allowed us to create such a tight bond) with our strong friendship to serve other women here through our blog and photography services.

Our blog is updated regularly with a variety of all things wine and women – from reviews of the places we visit, to fashion and beauty tips, to vlogs of our shenanigans, our favorite wines and recipes, and more – we share it all for your enjoyment. 

We are both experienced photographers who decided to stop shooting family portraits, engagements and weddings and focus on creating unique experiences for friends. How often to you get together with your girlfriends for a brunch or girls night out and try to take selfies to capture the memories, only to have those photos turn out blurry or have poor lighting, someone squinting or, well, you get the gist!? And how often do you feel like your time with your girlfriends isn’t necessarily quality time because everyone is too distracted by their phones? That’s where we come in! Let us handle the photos for you so you can focus on enjoying your time together and strengthening your friendships. 

We offer a variety of photography experiences for friend groups (or just you and your bff – or if you are still searching for your bff soulmate, we can match you up with another women seeking friendship) to include mini sessions, custom sessions, event planning, bachelorette parties, and more! All of our sessions include a complimentary bottle of wine (for those 21+) so you can just have fun with your girls and say “cheese!” while we handle the rest!
